Cory Barlog New God of War – In March 2026, well-known leaker NateTheHate caused a stir on social media after claiming that the new God of War game would have Faye, Kratos’ wife, as the main protagonist. Not only that, NateTheHate also said that the game will emphasize action elements more than the previous two games, potentially releasing in the first half of 2027.

Barlog’s comments came in a conversation on BlueSky in response to a question about the reasons behind Nintendo’s decision to release Star Fox Direct suddenly.
One BlueSky user jokingly said the move was simply made “to embarrass NateTheHate for a whole week.” The Director responded casually and said that he “fully supports that reason”.

The New GoW Game is Anticipated by Many Gamers
Even though Barlog’s response was relatively short, his attitude was quite readable. He was clearly not too happy with the leaks spread by NateTheHate. Because, these leaks have managed to make many players really look forward to the next State of Play event which NateTheHate said will probably be held before June.
If the predictions are correct, you can be sure that millions of eyes will be focused on the event and hope that there will be a surprising announcement about a new GoW game in it.
If this hope comes true, it won’t be the first surprise from the God of War series this year. A few months ago, a prequel game entitled God of War: Sons of Sparta was suddenly released without any prior announcement, and the remake version of the GoW trilogy was finally confirmed after being only the subject of speculation and rumors for so long.
Until now, no one can really say for sure what the new God of War game will be like. Rumors about a new game that will focus on Faye as the main protagonist do sound interesting, but it’s a good idea not to get your hopes up too much before Santa Monica Studio officially announces something.
