EA Saudi Arabia Shareholders – In September 2025, the video game industry was shocked by the news of how several investors bought the company Electronic Arts or better known as EA. It is known that some of these investors came from various parties, one of which was the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.
Recently, news emerged that many EA shareholders agree that the video game company is controlled by Saudi Arabia. Is that true?
Chronology of EA Shareholders Voting Strongly in Support of Companies Controlled by Saudi Arabia

Based on information obtained from Bloomberg, EA shareholders agreed that the sale of this video game company was worth $55 billion or around Rp. 922.24 trillion in a deal controlled by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). This number makes it one leveraged buyout largest in financial history according to reports obtained.
It is known that the results of the agreement were based on voting which took place where more than 201 million votes supported the acquisition of the EA company by a consortium controlled by Saudi Arabia’s PIF. And there were around 1.9 million votes against the deal.
This means that the results are absolutely absolute, where more than 200 million EA shareholders agreed to this company being acquired by PIF Saudi Arabia.
EA Share Takeover

EA investors are also known to have approved the takeover worth $210 or around Rp. 3.52 million per share based on voting last Monday. This figure is a 25% premium from the closing price starting in September 2025. The results of this agreement are considered to mark a turning point for the EA company which has been running for 40 years.
Based on the information obtained, after the transaction is completed, EA will officially become a private company and will no longer be listed on the stock exchange. It is also known that PIF will control 93.4% of EA’s shares. Meanwhile, Andrew Wilson will continue to serve as EA’s current CEO even under new ownership.

Even though it has been approved by the parties holding company shares, this agreement still has to wait for applicable regulatory approval. It is known that there are issues such as the Human Rights controversy in Saudi Arabia as well as the large financial risks resulting from the acquisition which involves very large loans. This exposes EAs to high operational risks.
That is information about how many EA shareholders agree that this video game company is controlled by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. What do you think about this information?
