New Japanese God of War Game – Information recently emerged that the next God of War series will take a quite different direction than the previous one. If so far each game series has always focused on one story setting, and generally focuses on Greek to Norse mythological settings, this latest title is actually rumored to feature East Asian mythology, namely Japan and China.

The Origin of the Rumors of the New God of War Game Presenting Japanese and Chinese Mythology
According to the latest report from mp1st, the combination of Japanese and Chinese mythological elements will be an important part of the new God of War game. They claim that this approach is considered a new experiment on the part of the developer to refresh the old formula that has been the hallmark of the series.
This move is quite surprising, considering that many fans previously predicted that the next series would turn to Egyptian mythology. However, with the possibility of cross-cultural exploration, God of War has the potential to present a wider and more complex world than before.
Apart from that, the concept of moving to various mythologies has actually been touched on in the series before, especially through characters like Tyr who is known as a god who travels across various cultures. This opens up the opportunity that the world of God of War was designed to be interconnected between mythologies.
Faye has the potential to be the main character
Interestingly, rumors also say that the character Faye, Kratos’ wife, will be the main protagonist in the new game. This is a big change, considering that Kratos has always been the center of the story in the previous series. Even so, it is rumored that Kratos will still appear, although it is not clear how big his role will be in the story.
If these rumors are true, then this new game will not only bring changes in terms of gameplay and world, but also from a story perspective. The combination of mythology and changing protagonists has the potential to be a major evolution for one of PlayStation’s most iconic franchises.
