A year ago, we first entered the radioactive, tea-stained ruins of Northern England in Atomfall. Today, the game is a phenomenon with 3.5 million players, and developer Rebellion is celebrating by revealing the numbers behind the post-apocalyptic success.
Since its debut on March 27, 2025, Atomfall has evolved far beyond its initial survival-horror roots. The post-nuclear vision of the Rebellion in the 1950s captured the imagination of millions, resulting in more than 17 million hours of exploration of the Cumbrian countryside.
From the unique survival mechanics (yes, we’ve collectively consumed over 16 million Cornish pasties) to the brutal tactical combat, the game has developed into the definitive British sci-fi epic, and Rebellion has shared the numbers to prove it in a blog post.

Survival by the Numbers: A Year in the Zone
The statistics coming out of the Windscale quarantine zone are shocking. The survivors collectively spent 16.8 million hours eating Cornish pasties and suffered 42.3 million deaths.
Additionally, players have eaten 2.2 million slices of cake, discovered 6.9 million comics, destroyed over 500,000 robots, and spent 17 million hours in the Quarantine Zone.
Beyond the raw data, the game has changed fundamentally. The launch of the Complete Edition, coinciding with the anniversary, features the Rapid Travel Network, finally solving the long-distance trekking complaints since launch.
If you prefer a challenge, this free update also introduces “Veteran” weapons. It’s inspired by Sniper Elite ballistics, making every shot against the BARD robot feel heavy and deadly.

The Red Strain: Why the Moriah Test Site is a Must Visit
While the first expansion, Wicked Isle, focused on open-ended exploration, The Red Strain leans more towards sci-fi horror. You’ll spend your time at Scafell Crag pursuing wacky missions involving muddled brains.
To survive the laboratory at the Moriah Test Site, you’ll need new weaponry. A suppressed SMG allows for stealth takedowns, while a flamethrower is the only real answer to the crimson monsters lurking in the dark.
It’s a successful change of tone. This expansion turns the hills into claustrophobic corridors and a high-stakes narrative that explains the true origins of the Red Strain infection.
Is Atomfall Worth Buying?
Atomfall has evolved significantly since it first landed. With massive AI improvements and the addition of fast travel, most of the obstacles of the early days have disappeared.
Checking out price comparison tools shows that you can get the same experience for much less. It’s a great way to see all that the Lake District has to offer without breaking the bank.

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
