Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Mod Beta Test Runs Successfully and Smoothly

Cyberpunk 2077 CyberMP Multiplayer Mod – It is common knowledge that Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be released with a multiplayer mode. Like GTA V, the plan is for the base game to be released first and followed by the multiplayer mode a few months later.

Unfortunately, the problematic release of Cyberpunk 2077 meant that plans for the multiplayer mode had to fail because CD Projekt Red as the developer chose to focus on improving the game. However, behind this disappointment, one hope emerged, namely a community-made multiplayer mode project called CyberMP.

Beta Test Successful, Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Mod Runs Successfully and Smoothly

Recently via the official server on Discord, the mod’s 10-person development team announced that the latest beta for the Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Mod called CyberMP “exceeded all expectations” and was “one of the most successful betas in the project’s history.”

They explained that the latest closed-beta test successfully got players and vehicles syncing seamlessly across all screens, after they carried out a major overhaul of both systems. As a result, the experience of driving a vehicle in Cyberpunk 2077 now feels much smoother.

There were very few issues noted, even fewer than the team expected. Apart from that, most of the bugs in the gameplay have also been resolved. Overall, the development of this project has risen to a new ‘level’ and there are still many other big changes that they have prepared for the future.

Confirmed No Co-op Support for Story Missions

Even though it has been in the works since before 2024, CyberMP itself was only officially announced to the public last year. However, it should be noted that the mod does not allow players to complete Cyberpunk 2077 story missions with other players in co-op mode.

Instead, CyberMP utilizes systems and mechanisms that already exist in the base game to present various other multiplayer modes such as racing and PvP battles. There is no certainty when this mod will be released, but if it is successful and continues to develop, CyberMP could compete with GTA Online.

At the time this article was written (4/12), they still had not determined when this Multiplayer mod would be released to the public. However, they promised to announce it in the near future on their Discord server.
