PS5 Star Fields – Even though critics were unanimous in their praise when Starfield was first released, the response from players was different. Many were disappointed that although the game offered hundreds of planets and solar systems to explore, most of the environments felt monotonous and repetitive. Space exploration is also considered to lack depth.
Nevertheless, Starfield is still listed as one of Bethesda’s major achievements. This RPG game has successfully become Bethesda’s best-selling game and is one of the best-selling games in 2023. Now, after being exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PC for 2.5 years, Starfield is ready to approach other platforms.
PS5 Version of Starfield Announced Along with Second Story DLC “Terran Armada”
After various rumors circulating on the internet, Bethesda finally confirmed that Starfield will be released on PS5 on April 7 2026. Not only that, on the same day, the open-world game will also receive a new update entitled Free Lanes and a second story DLC entitled Terran Armada.
Free Lanes brings a new system that allows players to explore between planets in one star system directly, without having to rely on fast travel.
With the new flight mode, players can now also cruise freely in space and have the opportunity to encounter various random events along the way, ranging from abandoned ships, sudden enemy attacks to other discoveries scattered across Settled Systems.
Apart from that, Free Lanes will also bring various new content to Starfield, ranging from new dungeons, interesting exploration points to crew characters that can be recruited. There is also a new land vehicle called the Moon Jumper which must be found first before it can be used.
A new progression system called X-Tech was also introduced, where the system allows players to upgrade weapons, ship modules and various other equipment using new resources that can be found while exploring.
Terran Armada Offers Large-Scale Missions
Lastly, Bethesda also announced a new story DLC for Starfield entitled Terran Armada. The DLC introduces a very powerful robot faction that is said to be starting to invade Settled Systems.
Apart from that, Terran Armada also comes with a new storyline that takes players to explore various locations while facing threats from Armada troops.
The missions in the DLC are large-scale where players will infiltrate huge enemy ships, encounter new types of enemies that have special abilities, and destroy the technology that the Armada uses to block grav-jump routes around the region.
